QRZ and QSL.now

QSL.now uses QRZ.com to find email addresses, and you do not need a QRZ account or subscription for that. This page explains what we look up and what is still to come.

Finding email addresses

Most logging programs do not put an email address in the log. When a station in your upload has none, we ask QRZ for the address that station has published on its QRZ page, using our own QRZ login. If the station has not published one, it gets no email from us, and its card is still made so you can print it.

We never show you the address. The page where you check your card just says "Address found on QRZ" or "No address, so print only". That page also lets you untick any station you would rather leave out before anything goes out. We keep a looked-up address for 90 days so we do not have to ask QRZ again each time the same net or club uses QSL.now, and then we delete it.

To keep this fair to QRZ and to the stations in its listings, we limit how many lookups one person can start in a day, and every upload passes a quick check that it comes from a person.

Your own details on the card

If your profile and your log do not give your name, town, and grid square, we fill them in from your own public QRZ page. You see the result before anything is sent and you can change it. We use your town, never your street address.

Your QRZ Logbook

If you log in here, you can log your contacts to your own QRZ Logbook at the same time you send your emails. QRZ reserves that for logbook owners with an active subscription at the XML Logbook Data level or higher, so this part needs a subscription of your own.

  1. Log in to qrz.com, open your logbook, and copy the API key from that logbook's Settings. It gives full access to that logbook, so treat it like a password.
  2. On QSL.now, open Integrations, paste the key, and press Test.
  3. On the page where you check your card, leave "Log these to my QRZ Logbook" ticked.

We store the key in encrypted form and you can remove it whenever you like. QRZ turns away exact duplicates on its own side, so sending the same contact twice does not double your log.
